Solgate Solar Panels are high quality made-in-Ontario solar panels.
Solgate uses a 4 mm tempered low-iron, high transmissivity glass in their panels to withstand harsh winter conditions. Other solar panel manufacturers typically only use 3 mm glass.
Solgate modules have strong anodized aluminum frames that are fully seated and sealed.
All Solgate panels have a 25 year warranty.
Performance testing
Solgate cells and PV modules are rigorously tested to ensure that the rated output matches the nominal nameplate rating values to a high tolerance of +/- 2%. Many lesser quality solar panels on the market are rated to a tolerance of +/- 5%.
The NOCT (Normal Operating Cell Temperature) for the Solgate MonoCrystalline line of PV is 42.0°C +/-1°C at 800 W/m2 irradiance and STC of 1000 W/m2
All Solgate modules have preconditioning, maximum power point determination, performance at STC and NOCT, performance at low irradiance, hot-spot endurance test, and UV preconditioning
All modules are flash tested using a Class BBB solar simulator in accordance with IEC 60904
